Storms, Storms, Storms

Hello! I haven’t been on here for a while but I thought of something on Tuesday night (May 3rd, 2010)  (At least I think it was Tuesday). I was woken up on Tuesday night by a bunch of thunder. But the wierd thing was that it was only drizzeling. But that has nothing to do with my point. I watched the lightning flash from about 4:20 AM to about 5:00 AM.  While doing this, I thought of God and how amazing his creation is. If you think about it, there’s electricity and water coming from the sky down to Earth.

How does that happen?! Well, God is amazing and so is His creation. I also thought about how there are a lot of storms in our lives that God will lead us through. I also thought of a question. If God is everywhere, then why in 1 Kings 19:9-18 was God only in the silence? Now, I know God was trying to make a point to Elijah, and us. But, it semmed like a contridiction. Here is 1 Kings 19:9-18…

9 There he went into a cave and spent the night.

The LORD Appears to Elijah

And the word of the LORD came to him: “What are you doing here, Elijah?”  10 He replied, “I have been very zealous for the LORD God Almighty. The Israelites have rejected your covenant, broken down your altars, and put your prophets to death with the sword. I am the only one left, and now they are trying to kill me too.”

11 The LORD said, “Go out and stand on the mountain in the presence of the LORD, for the LORD is about to pass by.”
Then a great and powerful wind tore the mountains apart and shattered the rocks before the LORD, but the LORD was not in the wind. After the wind there was an earthquake, but the LORD was not in the earthquake. 12 After the earthquake came a fire, but the LORD was not in the fire. And after the fire came a gentle whisper. 13 When Elijah heard it, he pulled his cloak over his face and went out and stood at the mouth of the cave.
Then a voice said to him, “What are you doing here, Elijah?”

14 He replied, “I have been very zealous for the LORD God Almighty. The Israelites have rejected your covenant, broken down your altars, and put your prophets to death with the sword. I am the only one left, and now they are trying to kill me too.”

15 The LORD said to him, “Go back the way you came, and go to the Desert of Damascus. When you get there, anoint Hazael king over Aram. 16 Also, anoint Jehu son of Nimshi king over Israel, and anoint Elisha son of Shaphat from Abel Meholah to succeed you as prophet. 17 Jehu will put to death any who escape the sword of Hazael, and Elisha will put to death any who escape the sword of Jehu. 18 Yet I reserve seven thousand in Israel—all whose knees have not bowed down to Baal and all whose mouths have not kissed him.”

So, what do you think?! I couldn’t and haven’t figured out an answer to that so, PLEASE COMMENT!  Sorry about the bold there. I just wanted people to comment on that so I bolded it! Anyways…

The first point I had was this. God’s creation is AMAZING!! All the different birds, reptiles, mammals, THUNDER STORMS, and many more things. God made sure His creation was beautiful. He loved and loves His creation and we should do the same thing too. I think that many people do admire, sometimes not a sense that God made it, but they still admire it. I think that we just ignore that sometimes. Think about this. How would you have made the world different if YOU were God?

I don’t think that I would have been as creative as God. Or think of SO MANY animals. I might just think, “I just want some people to talk to or animals.” Now that I’ve lived in sin and know what it is, I think I wouldn’t have let their be any chance of sin. That is what I would do. At least now. It would probably be different if I was around whenever God was the only one there.

I know of Many “storms” in our lives. Such as drinking, the death of a loved one, divorce, and so much more. I don’t have much to say about this one except that when we do have “storms”, we need to talk to God about them and let God handle them.

I hope you enjoyed this! I have one more thing to say…
